Liana Faletto is an artist and teacher, working primarily in printmaking. A largely self-taught printmaker, Liana’s print practice was born from experimentation while studying various print techniques.
Her work is primarily rooted in monotype, a process that allows for versatility and impulsive trial. Through an intuitive and additive approach to composition, her monotype prints take shape from unplanned reactions to color, form, and the materials around her. Viewers are compelled to look closer at what may appear minimal in her compositions, and notice moments of movement in curves and directional lines as well as delicate details like etched plates and embossments. A Chicago native, Liana received her BA in visual arts education from DePaul University where she began experimenting with printmaking in 2011. She is an active exhibiting member of the art and print community in Chicago. For questions, commissions, or sales, please contact directly. |
